ford mondeo 2013 auto gearbox issues. need help I have a 2013 2.0 mondeo automatic. it will now only select 1st 3rd and 5th gears .. I have checked the transmission fluid level and all is fine. The car has only 76500 Km on the meter. At 60000 Km the previous owner changed the oil in the gearbox. My local dealer said that they never have had a Mondeo with problems in the Powershift gearbox, but he mentioned that maybe it had to be replaced. They will know better when they take it in for service. I have a 2011 Mondeo Zetec with 96,000km. Last week my car started to jerk, so I went to the service dealer, only to be told that the transmission has gone. A new transmission would cost $15,000 to replace. The car is insured for $10,500. I think this is a job for Fair Trading. Posted May 4, 2012. I have just fitted a new condenser to my 53 plate mondeo tdci 5 speed auto. whilst doing so I lost a little transmission fluid when I took the oil cooler pipes off the old one. The Haynes manual and everything else I have read, just tells you the top up is on the top of the gear box. Ihave rmoved the air filter housing and I have a 2010 Mondeo TitaniumX SCTi with the 6 speed powershift 6DCT450 gearbox with just over 100k miles on it. A few weeks ago the engine stalled when coming to a stop and the the car hesitated to move under very light acceleration when parking. I had the gearbox oil filter and oil replaced with genuine Ford parts and the car drove fine. After this episode though, the gear change was so much slicker and when I moved the car into the garage to flush the clutch fluid it went straight into reverse. My theory on this is that it is clutch drag causing the problem and perhaps a very tiny amount of rust or damp on the pressure plate overnight causes enough drag to make low gear Until recently I believed the gearbox was the Powershift dual dry clutch 6DCT250, or possibly the wet clutch 6DCT450, but after speaking to an independent dual clutch auto box specialist to arrange a service, they told me their data base recorded my car as having a 'proper' 6F15 automatic which they didn't work on. The mechanic was surprised It could be that the front back one needs adjusting to push it more into gear. (i.e. 1st/2nd 3rd/4th 5th/rev) The adjustment is at the gearbox end of the cable, its a fiddly plactic clip and threaded bar arrangement. Try seeing of you can move it one notch at a time time to see if it improves. .
